Michigan Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development

Michigan ASCD is the state affiliate of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, an international organization of diverse educators committed to excellence in teaching and learning.

Located in Lansing, Michigan ASCD is a strong resource and advocate for quality teaching and learning in our state. The organization collaborates with the State Department of Education, the State Board of Education, the Legislature and other educational organizations to advocate for and influence the educational policy and practices that are of interest to our membership. While we work closely with ASCD on many issues of common interest, Michigan ASCD is the local connection to Michigan education.

Michigan ASCD supports the Whole Child Initiative, calling on educators, communities, and policymakers to work together to fulfill the new compact for the education of the whole child. Successful implementation of these policies results in successful learners who are knowledgeable, emotionally and physically healthy, civically active, artistically engaged, prepared for economic self-sufficiency, and ready for the world beyond formal schooling.   http://www.michiganascd.org/
